It was the fifth time when I took part in this year’s road run competition. I woke up at 6 o’clock in the morning (as usual). Thanks to my sensitive gum, I was bleeding when brushing my teeth. I took a drink and 2 buns (Normally, I take only a bun. I took 2 today because I was afraid of fainting while jogging).
I entered my classroom once I had reached my school. I was doing nothing while waiting for the race to be started.
When the bell rang, everyone gathered at the assembly spot. We did some warm up exercises after the teachers gave some semi-useless speeches. And of course, we were asked to loiter on the field for a few seconds (which was also for absolutely no reason).
Before the race started, the teacher with a pissing-people-off voice threatened everyone that they will be kicked if they did not run for the first kilometer. Finally, the race started as the road was cleared.
Despite the aching muscles, I could endure the pain and jog with a consistent speed. I hoped to get a prize because it was the last for me to take part in road run competition as a secondary school student. However, it came up short when I realized that I was the thirty-fifth student who reached the finish line. I was upset but yet I was proud of myself. I beat myself and some of my friends. Besides that, I contributed score to Blue House and that was why Blue House became the champion (I am consoling myself, so if you are not down with that, I got two words for ya… Punch me!)
The activity ended with prize giving ceremony. I was happy that one of the B.F.S. members got the medal (Congrats, Tai San! You deserved it!) Eventhough there was only one member left the school with ‘W’, I found that the B.F.S. members improved a lot! So, congratulations to you too, Andrew!
Before I finish typing this post, I have an early wish for all the readers. Happy Chinese New Year!
